Pulimurugan is a Malayalam Action-Adventure Movie Released on 7 October 2016. Directed by Vysakh, starring Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal as the Protagonist. Screenplay written by Udayakrishna of the Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas duo. The film is produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam through the production house, Mulakupadam Films.Soundtrack is composed by Gopi Sunder, while cinematography is handled by Shaji Kumar. Peter Hein handles the fight choreography.
Puli Means Tiger, The story is about the incidents that occur in the life of Murugan - a lorry driver who has vengeance against Tiger. Murugan lost his parents quite early and loves his brother more than anything in the universe. Even from his young age he has developed extraordinary skills at killing tigers that create havoc in the forest settlement known as Puliyoor. He is not a hunter but he kills tiger that attack humans. The story moves into a few challenges that Murugan has to encounter in his life, both from wild animal and wild human beings. How he fights the enemies including tiger forms the essence of the story.

Pulimurugan earned an opening day collection of ₹4.05 crore from Kerala box office, making it the highest opening-day gross for a Malayalam film and the second highest (behind Tamil film, Kabali) for any language film in the state. The film grossed ₹4.83 crore on Sunday (9 October), which is the highest single day collection recorded for any film in Kerala box office. By taking it's 3 days gross collection to ₹12.91 crore, It is setting records in the Malayalam Industry.
