Rachita Ram has been roped in as the female lead in the Kannada version of Tamil film "Velaiilla Pattadhari" & it will be directed by Nanda Kishore. "Velaiilla Pattadhari" featured Dhanush and Amala Paul in the lead role.

Manoranjan Ravichandaran will romance with Rachita Ram in the flick. Film is slated to go on floors soon. Title of the film is not yet finalised.

Earlier, there were reports that Amala might reprise her role from the original, but it doesn't seem to be the case with this new development.
