Sultan was the most expected movie of 2016 which released on July 6. Salman Khan starrer Sultan countinues it's historic run in the Box office.
The film made 36.54 Cr in it's opening day and followed up with 37.2Cr on Eid holiday. As Friday was a working day, the film witnessed to small decrease in the collection with 31.50 Cr. It has earned 105.34 Cr in just three days of release. This is Salman's 10th movie to cross 100 Cr mark. Sultan also broke Salman's previous film box office records like Bhajarangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo & become his highest opener at box office.
With next two days being the weekend the film improved it's box office collection. It collected 37.1 Cr and 40 Cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively. This movie topped all bollywood movies with it's opening five days collection of 182.4 Cr and which is the highest by any movie. On 6th day it collected 20.14 Cr and on 7th day collection is decreased but it managed to collect 16.56 Cr.
Since the film is riding high on positive word of mouth and good reviews it totally collected 217.42 Cr in India. It also nearly collected 98.07 Cr in overseas theaters. Total world wide collection of first week for sulthan is 315.49 Cr and the film is running successfully all over India and in overseas
